| hi, im gareth from south wales, a self employed signwriter (or car sticker maker as my 6yr old boy calls me lol), currently driving a vectra gsi, but selling that shortly and buying a zafira (just standard for now, gsi in the future if the wallet allows ), so looking for general advice on what to look out for, and how to do certain jobs on them. ive been told the zaf is based on the astra mk4, is this correct? what sort of cosmetic bits can be swaped from a astra to a zafira, interior trim, door handles etc? just thinking astra parts might be easier to get hold of and would vectra 16" 5 stud alloy wheels be a direct fit to the zafira? and what size tyres would be standard for a zafira with 16" wheels? from memory vectra size was 205 55 16, hoping the zaf is the same lol | |

| Hello there and welcome. to answer your questions, the zaf is a great wee motor, not much to watch out for except given to gearbox trouble (my gearbox died at 61,000, lol) but if you don't thrash the nuts of them it should be ok. if its an ecotec engined one then be sure to only use semi-synthentic oil as ecotecs eat cheap oil like a kid munches smarties. you are correct on the zaf being based on the astra, they share the same chassis and running gear. cosmetically sadly not too many interchangeable bits between the astra and the zaf except maybe badges, side repaters, etc.... and yes, your 16" alloys will bolt directly on to the zaf. and the tyres should be ok as well.
