| timing belt snapped doing about 40 - 50 mph, geting towed to the garage today, what do you think the damage might be, all 16 bent valves? how much am i looking at roughly, am i gonna have to bend over and take a good spanking? | |

| assuming you're engine is the z16xe like mine, seen one of these break the belt before, not pretty. they don't usually do it at 40 - 50 mph tho, more often they do it on cold start. your belt must have been in bad shape. this was mine after it came off.................. the guy that done the work for me told me i was very, very lucky..... | |

| yeh its a clean snap, not looking forward to the quote. i just had a feeling it was gonna go anytime soon, just a gut feeling. how much did you pay to get it sorted. | |

| my belt didn't snap, i just got it changed, (20k overdue, lol) cost me 125 quid for the kit and water pump, then 50 quid to get the work done. Bargain!!!! | |

| Sorry to hear that mate. My old zaffys cam belt snapped and all 16 valves were shot. The mechanic I use was very reasonable. Where are you from? | |

| im from stevenage, i asked the bloke i took it to how much it will roughly by in price, he said depending on whats wrong but they wont know untill they have the head off and have checked. does anyone know how much im gunna get spanked? They should have cambelt chains on all cars, would save people thousends. | |

| Anything less than £500 wil be a result I think matey. Much cheaper to change cambelt every 40k Just done mine at 121k | |

| yeh, hes working on it now, he said between 500 and 800, talk about kick in the teeth. MOT is in september so was gunna ask him to change belt then, guess i jinxed it. | |

| got the car back yesterday after snapped cam belt. work carried out was: 16 new valves, head bolts, head gasket kit, cambelt kit, water pump, engine flush, new oil, oil filter, antifreeze, plugs, air filter, £950.00 Would anyone say thats value for money? | |
