PostSubject: HELP!!!!! OIL IN INTERCOOLER   Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:34 am

Was on my way back from cardiff last night and the car started to run very lumpy!!! Stuck to 50 mph on the way back and this morning started looking for some reason for it. Opened the bonnet and there was oil all over the engine bay!!!!

Started to clean the bay up making sure oil didnt get where it shouldnt and took the boost pipe off - full of oil and so was the intercooler.

Could some one help try and figure out the problem and possible offer some remedies

Cheers in advanced

heard about a few of the turbos breaking down after they have not long been fitted. some people say its down to the fitting and some say just a poor design turbo but theres things that could have caused it such not being primed, running to higher boost with the actulator not set properly ect. hope you get it sorted mate

RE the actuator .......i fitted my vrx turbo on 18 months ago.. and i have not altered the actuator settings from when it came from a vauxhall company up north..(as supplied for a vxr) i have had no issues at all no leaks no noises ..and the boost gauge reads as it should for a GSI..about 10/11 psi max and about 8ish psi give or take a little when it drops ....done about 5000 miles since fitted..and i have given it plenty of wellie ,very often.....
