PostSubject: wheel balance   Mon Aug 02, 2010 4:44 am

hi all,
is there anyone out there who is up on legal matters as i have a problem i need help with,
in the third week of june this year i bought a new set of dotz alloys with what ( motorsave at gainsborough ) call premium tires, on the first day they fitted them i drove about thirty miles and if i got anywhere near 70mph i got bad steering judder it got worse the further through the 70's i went, so i took them back and they took all of them off and put them on their balancer, put them back on my bus and they were worse than ever,
this went on for four weeks in the end they said well we can't balance them we'll send them back to the supplier along with my wheel bolts and locking bolt and they said it will take about two weeks, they rang a week later to tell me that they had had trouble contacting the supplier ( lying bastards they had forgotten about them ) but they will be collected the next day,
after they had had them five weeks i rang them and asked were they are and the prat said (i told you it could take weeks) i told him to fu** off and said he said it MIGHT take upto two weeks, anyway i told him to ring them up and tell them to pull their finger out,
it's now been seven weeks and iv'e heard nothing, doe's anyone know if i have a legal right to tell them to stick them ask for my money back as it's been so long, (they have had them longer than i have )it doe's not take seven weeks to balance four wheels,
thanks for any advice,
rick.

Ask to speak to the manager and demand your money back, if they give you any problems just threaten them with trading standards that always works. If you wanted some legal advice over the matter then you should contact your local citizens advice bureau.

Hope you get it sorted.

hi tomz20let,
they was not premium tires and they were not the size i ordered either they are some cheap back street chinese crap, i cannot remember the name of the tires right now but i did dozens of searches and could not bring them up anywhere,
i'll contact C A B to-morrow see what they say.
thanks,
rick.
