cheers, it seems induction is always the most popular modification but what gain can i expect, should i be expecting a discernable difference or is that being optomistic....has anyone ever come across roller info showing gains from induction alone?
What are your experiences from induction mods on your zafiras?

aaaah, well thats better than a kick in the nads isn't it, lol.
So with my pre cat then as well i should be nudging the 200 bhp mark.
Anyway why are zafira gsi's 187 bhp but astra gsi's 197, whats the difference ??

well i fitted the new turbo de cat downpipe this morning, went fairly well, a couple of rusty nuts snapped removing the o.e pre cat but no matter, all fitted well and drives good so job done.
Scorpion pipe was not the best quality tbh, i had to grind away some burrs and one were the sensor screws in was particularly rough, so much so it wouldnt even screw in until id tidied it up.
Last time i had scorpion quality was much better. It maybe just sounds very slightly louder but its easy to see why the o.e downpipe is so restrictive, its a right peice of work !!

that wouldn't explain why the astra has more power though? would just explain why it's quicker.... Smile

The astra SRI also has 189bhp yet 0-60 times are quoted as the same as the GSI, also astra weight is quoted as 1272kg

i had this argument with my mate who had the astra gsi his had more bhp then my zaf

total vx used to have a table of the vx's with 0-60 times and bhp's which he pointed out to me

same engine but different bhp for some reason

astra gsi 197 bhp 0-60 6 seconds ( standard )

astra sri turbo bhp 187 0-60 6 seconds (standard Z20LET ENGINE)

zafira gsi 192 bhp 0-60 7.6 seconds ( standard )

when they do a dyno they SHOULD set it up by weight to get an acurate reading also aerodynamics come in to play as the zafira is clearly massive compered to the astra. Also if you put a standard cav gsi ( c20let ) up against a standard corsa ( c20let ) the corsa would win hands down due to it have a c20let in a biscuit tin it works the same with an astra and a zafira hence the expression power to weight ratio. The sri has the same z20let engine but less tuned than the gsi engines and the were a limited edition as there were only 500 made. Very Happy Twisted Evil Very Happy

fitted my cdti induction set up today and im very pleased wth it, lovely fit and finish on everything.I never expected a diesel airbox just to fit straight in so well and i didnt even have to extend the wire for the amf sensor. !!
I brought a vectra c pipe and connector to hopefully pipe cold air from the front of the car but it wouldnt fit with the new kit so i used the old feed pipes to supply air which fitted very well but as the diameter is small i didnt connect it to the air box, instead i just pointed the end closely too the airbox in pipe to provide some cooler air but still allow more to be drawn in from the wing area.
Looks nice under the bonnet and loses the ugly crossover pipe but more importantly i feel is the drive is enhanced without any chavvy induction roar, this was important for me i deffinitely didnt want the loud noises you usually get when you modify induction systems.
I have to admit im surprised as the car genuinely feels more lively, i'm not one to go making rash claims, but judging solely by the old butt dyno i'd wager this set up has released some power, infact more so then the pre cat replacment pipe imo.
