did you smear copper grease over the rear of the pads where the pistons and the callpier touches them..when you fitted them ?

just double check that all the bolts are tight. and were the leading edges of the pads chamfered ... also some pads and shoes are made of a slightly harder material than others and this causes problems...what make were your pads?

Mine does the same. I've now got a tin of spray on copper grease from halfords. Whenever they start squealing i just spray as much of the pad as i can see and it usually does the trick for a while. Saves taking the pads off every time.

It's a common fault I think, I'm sure I read about it on Autodata, I've got it installed on my OPCOM laptop. Next time I switch it on i'll have a look and see what it says and how to cure it.

Right, just looked. The rear brakes are mentioned and it says the cause is Rubber coated caliper sliding pins which need to be replaced with plain ones.
