| Hi John, Welcome to the club.
Does it only happen on tick over?
When you say "chugging" do you mean erratic idle? or is it misfiring?

| hi, its like it wants to stall but it doesnt, this happens when zaffy is warm on tick over, it does wobble slightly on the rev counter but not much. i have resealed the throttle body so no air leaks there. she does also have a blow on the exhaust could this be related many thanks john | |

| Hmmm, any error codes stored?
To be honest mate without any codes to guide us in the right direction it could be anything. It could be the MAF sensor, what part of the country are you?

| hi checked the maf today and it was all clean went to put back in and 1 of the small thin metal bits fell out, can only assume it was faulty hence the juddery tick over. engine management light is now on, so got a new maf on order should be here next week, fingers crossed, guessing thats what the problem was. will post again when done!!! | |

| got the maf on and loads better, still a very slight judder but think thats down to slight blow on exhuast, gonna try and cap the egr valve to see if that makes any differnce. if it does, can i buy a blanking plate and does it need re mapping after or is it just a case of put it in and go!! thanks again guys u have all been a huge help to a new zaffy owner | |

| i wouldnt blank egr it helps with the emissions, and was always under the impression that it helps with the performance side. | |

| i was also told you can try blanking the egr to test it and if car runs better that means the egr is faulty therefore it needs to be replaced. if it does need replacing can i just change it or do i need to doing anything else?? | |

| you could disconnect the vacuem pipe off it. and block the end of the vac pipe. that would be a quicker option ignore the engine fault light and see what it drives like. | |
