Today i removed throttle body to clean it out as i get really pants throttle response and i found that it was caked in crud. all the breather hoses were blocked, i had to bore out the 1mm breather hole with a drill, the air filter tunnel was full of crap.
My advice to anyone with high mileage to do this as its prob never been done if youve never done it, and ur be shoked. I think the vauxhall design to have the breathers so close to the inlet is mad, never had this on any other car.
Anyway, posted some pics to show you. Once i got it all the cleaned up with carb cleaner and industrial wipes, old t-shirts, and a tampon, yes a tampon (girlfriends are good for one thing) worked a trated at absorbing fluid. Yes fluid was smuthered everywhere.
I also removed the EGR valve to see if you could actually clean them to find it was a sealed unit. i get error code 0400, i obviously couldnt clean it so i guess i'll have to replace it.
OR, is it possible to remove it altogether and block it, and to have it wiped from the ECU (or whatever it is they do) by vauxhall, is that just so the EML goes out so is it essential to have the ECU done. as im not too fused with the light being on.
Also, i couldnt figure out where the idle control valve is, does anyone know. Its a Z16XE (I think).
