spare wheel help

ok ,humour me please...how do i get the spare wheel down from under the car , ive loosened the nut under the flap in the boot and took the hook off so the wheel is semi loose but theres a plastic centre in the wheel with a large plastic bolt through the middle of it up in to the floor which is also holding the wheel up and i cannot for the life of me fathom out how on earth you arte supposed to do undo this, the nut is not accesable in the plastic centre mount and if you spin the wheel the whole bolt spins.
In the handbook there is no mention of a secondary plastic bolt through the wheel centre........whats the point of a spare wheel you can't even remove at home with all your tools in the daylight and with the handbook, which doesn't even mention it.?

well ive searched 3 forums and none are any help, no one ever mentions the plastic bolt to remove spare wheel .....does nobody know, have i brought the only gsi in the country with this apparent imovable extra bolt ????

i have read about it but never delt with one my self im sure there will be some who knows how to it

right ive figured it out, its obviously on the cars fron new but its quite awkward to remove and even more so to re fit so obviously whoever first took the spare wheels off most zafiras just never bothers to put it back as its not really needed, having said that it does plug the hole in the floor so if your car doesnt have one then you must have a hole straight through to outside which is approx 40 mm round so could possibly let splash water in and wet your rear carpet.
This bolt would also stop anyone trying to steal your wheel, although a determined thief might be able to snap it off with it being plastic, its m12 size i think though so quite hefty.
You have to lift the rear right seat and theres a hidden plastic bolt head under a little flap in the carpet, you have to hold the wrench on the bolt head inside the car while spinning the wheel under the car to undo it and drop it down, its a right faff.
My spares brand new with nobbles still on so obviously no one has ever gone through this rigmarole before on my car, i am the lucky first ,lol.

Your post reminds me that I must invest in a wheel lock , I heard of so many wheels being nicked over the years . But , I wouldn't want to be lifting the rear seats as I normaly carry quite abit of stuff and would have to empty the luggage area first .I wonder if I can make or buy something that fits/locks the wheel without getting inside the vehicle . Naturally it would have to be secure with some form of padlock etc to stop the thiefs .
