weird fault , broke down again today

hi this has happened to me twice now , ive got a quarter of a tank of petrol in my zafira and every time i park it at my mums with the two n/s wheels on the kerb its runs out of petrol , it leans to the drivers side when i park there , ive had to start the car up in gear just to move it onto the flat , then it will start , when driving up the road after it has started the gauge goes back upto quarter , are these cars that sensitive???
ive looked at the fuel filter and it does look the original the milage is 81k and its a 1.6 16v engine .thanks

same with every zafira cos the pump is the other side no lie i always park so it leans passanger side

its a coomon problem, it's a bit of a design fault

ive had a few times when the tank says 50 miles to go

its rubbish , the pick up must be on the passenger side

i never had that problem ,could be bad for the pump it will suck up all the crap in the tank
