| does anyone own or have owned an automatic zaf? due to a cabbaged left knee, which the good old NHS don't want to replace until i'm 50 ( 9 years away), Thats what 21 years loyal service get you, Nowt!!!!!, i'm going to have to replace my manual with an auto. Looking at prices on ebay and autotrader etc and not wanting to spend any money, i'm going to have to do a deal on a zaf a. i've seen some 1.8 and 2.2's which 1 is best suited to a auto box? Thanks Iain | |

| Hi i have just got myself an Auto Zaf B 2.2 , pulls realy well, you can hardly feel the gear change , very smooth indeed, i also drive an 3Ltr Omega MV6 Auto , and would say thet the auto box is as good as the Omega, my sister has an Auto Zaf A 2.2 which also has a very good engine and auto box, like your other reply the only thing to consider realy is the fuel, hope you can find a nice one, it did take me a while to find mine, but their are loads to choose from in Auto trader or Ebay as you mentioned, think you will be pleased with the bigger 2.2. Regards Dave | |

| i used to have a zaf a 1.8 auto (115bhp model). ok, it was a more leisurely drive but if i was on my own and hit the "daddy's on his own" button it still surprised a few people. i know that will probably confuse the issue but dont discount the smaller 4 pot completely. (prob better fuel consumption too?) | |

| I have a 1.8 auto Comfort, amply powerful, 30-35mpg (I live in Billericay, a country town, don't do much rush hour driving);have carried a carful of concrete rubble, (that is, with the middle seats pushed forward); had seven passengers, even with adults in the back two seats). The 1.8 will surprise your local boy racers if you put your foot down. Don't forget, there's no embarassing stalling at the lights if you have an auto! | |

| Ive got a 1.8 auto and I am more than happy with it. It has quite a bit of poke really considering its size. It doesn't feel like an mpv | |
