gearbox help

got the chance of a f23 gertag box from a 02 astra ? but its gearchange is cables how easy to change and anyone got cables as its a barebox will it fit a redtop

ye're better sticking to the f17 in the zaf, you're gonna have issues with the c20xe as well because the engine in the zaf is mounted at the bottom to a x-member, and the red top is mounted at the top, so you're gonna have to weld in a new engine mounting. rather you than me mate, but i'll say this you've got balls for attempting it, so respect from me lad, Lol!!

thanks but the standard gbox wont fit redtop cant change flywheel dont match up does anyone know what gbox is in a diesel poss it might do the job?

I take you are fitting a xe into your zaf?

Best getting the f23 from the astra then. It'll bolt on to the xe no probs and then you can use the driveshafts from the f23 too plus the mounts.

As for an engine mount you can use a z20let mount but you will need to mess about with timing belt covers and drilling/tapping the xe block.
