| Just finished installing the sub and amp etc, but am not getting power to the amp at all :S Ive double checked the remote and live and the earth but cant work it out. Ive earthed it under the boot floor cover on to a bracket attached to the folding rear seats, is this good enough or do I need a more positive earth? Thanks | |

| I would try another earth first off mate, i've had trouble in the past on other cars trying to get a decent earth off brackets etc, anyway you could use earth from rear lights? not sure how zafs are set up, never looked, but might be worth a try. | |

| it would be worth a try, you should be able to pick up an earth from the loom that runs through the boot, again not sure whats there. | |

| To be sure the amp all works, run a long lead to something you know is earth to make sure it switches on. Then you know if that bracket is not an option. | |

| Yeah Ive checked all the fuses including the amp one and they are all like new. Theres definitely power going through the amp wire as it sparked when tested. will have a look bahind the side compartments in the morning! Thanks for the suggestions | |

| Right Ive now changed the earth to a bracket behind the left side compartment in the boot and still nothing My only other worry is maybe the remote wire. I have a blue remote wire going from the amp to the head unit, but a blue and white and blue and black on the rear of the head unit. Ive linked it to the blue and white but should it be to the blue/black? Sorry for all the daft questions | |

| should be blue or blue and white mate it was on un alpine head unit i put in and is on the kenwood i got in mine test the wire with a tester if you got one to see if it has power at the amp end unless it is easy to get the head unit out. it could still be the earth . i found two earths in the boot left and right for the tail lights you take the plastic pannel off from around the bottom of the boot not on the tail gate pull back the carpet pannel in the boot and there is an earth wire thats visable on an earth that sticks out from the body worked first time for me no need to clean paint bk etc . hope you get it sorted bud. | |

If it was me, I'd still be testing that amp first as you could be doing all this for a dud amp. Run long leads to what you KNOW is a positive and an earth, switch on and see what happens. No luck, check that switch and then go from there. If it does fire up, replace the positive first then fire up and then go onto the earth, that way if it doesn't fire up you know that your earth isn't an earth. | |

| Finally got this sorted!! I managed to use the same earth as Ian mentioned so eliminated that problem, but then it blew the fuse under the bonnet lol changed that and it still wouldnt work, so took headunit out again and found another 2 remote wires in the HU loom, which made 4 in total!! Tested all of them and finally found one that worked! Thanks again for all the help and comments!! | |
