| its a very common issue for the hand brake in the caliper to sieze, probably have to try taking it of and cleaning it up and if that doesnt work its new caliper time | |

| take the caliber off remove pads and make sure the piston will turn. if its sized it wont adjust itself, if it moves adjust it so you can still turn the disc without it binding. you shouldnt need to adjust it all the time as its self-adjusting but the can be done manuly to. | |

| To adjust the HANDBRAKE means to adjust it so that it works properly meaning that when you pull the lever up by so many notches in the cabin the wheels rear lock evenly and hold the car..and the only way that you do this is by firstly having a good handbrake cable to each wheel and a set of rear working / moving caliper pistons and the caliper lever moves freely..and then (and this is the adjustment bit.) tightening the cable adjusting nut (in the cabin on the GSI) to the amount that when the handbrake lever is at three notches it locks both wheels equaly and when the handbrake lever is released , both wheels turn freely.. | |

| to check the lever on the caliper is operating the piston properly , spin the wheel while using a bar to move the caliper lever that operates the piston and see if it stops the wheel turning.. | |
