Is there a chance you could post up a piccy of your display as I am trying to work out if the display you have is the same as mine, maybe able to get the trip computer enabled on mine.

as long as you have a 3 line display or better you can get the trip comp activated.
i'll post a pic of my one tomorow.

changed mine to cd30 mp3 at christmas didnt know about trip activation ..ha looks like a trip to the dealers now ...

hi..yes mine has three line display...just thought bc button was for upper range vxhls...didnt know this could be activated

all you have to do is get tech 2 done, get them to change the code index of the display.
i had to get mine changed from code index 001 to 004 and that brought up the trip comp on the display. you will easy know if it works as it will show on the display.
should only take them less than 5 minutes to do, i got mine done for £15 by local vx garage.

nice will be going in on friday then...looking back does the unit and screen have to be teched

if both are working now then only need to tech2 to change the code index of the screen to get the trip comp to work.

this is what they need to do


1, tech2 screen, ENTER

2 diagnostics

3 year of car eg 2006

4 zafira b

5 infotainment

6 programming

7 code index

8 program code index

9 enter

10 a part number will flash on the screen press enter

11 change to 004


12 press program

13 programming is complete press finish/abort

14 exit to main screen and turn off

should take you 2 mins to do

thanks for that guys...thats the only thing i was gutted about when i bought the car...why dont they do this in the factory if its capable?

there is lots of things they don't do. i put in cruise control into my zaf for about £40 and 2 hours of my time.
i think vx hope you will go back to get these things done and then charge you a fortune for the priviledge!

called the 2 vauxhall dealers we have here today ...one said that will be £75+vat and the other said that will be £58+vat..ha ha that is just daylight robbery..had bit of a wrangle with one of them over the price he was quite arogant..how do they justify that price..looked at getting off ebay but they only go upto 2004..anyone know if b type is available yet...

no they both said thats the charge for putting on diagnostic..when i mentioned how long it would take them thats when they got funny about it ...im not letting them rip me off ...

when i got it done the vauxhall dealer i went to said that they have to charge something and then said that the minimum the can charge is 15 minutes time so i got it done for about £12 +VAT. i asked about the minimum time and they said it is something all vauxhall dealers can do.

what to do is pay their rates, see how long they have charged you for and then ask that the person who did the work does no more work on another car till the time you have paid for is up.

hi...managed to find diagnostics tool op-com for zafira b for £30...gonna give that a go instead,does anyone know if the program will roughly as stated in andromedas post...cheers chaps!!

Can I ask where you got it from mate?

i have an op-com for zafita b. tried to do trip comp with it but had no success and ended up going to vaux for tech 2.

someone out there may know how to do it with op com.

hi...was new listing on ebay....says cmpat for zaffb...i ll give it a go...you watch i ll probably completely imobilise me car and not be able to go on hols next week ,but if ye dont try you dont get anywhere i suppose...cheers!!
